So soon

S6300582.JPG I have had a great summer so far, too bad school is starting in two days. I had so many great times this summer. After I went to my grandparents’ cottage for a week I had some time to rest before camp. I love love love my camp, it is a great experience. At camp we live in little cabins called chalets, which you can see in the picture. The picture is of my “chalet”. Every time you go to camp there is a “theme”, this year it was Alice in Wonderland. There are four or five other girls in your “chalet” besides you. I did so many fun things at camp this summer. For example, I learned how to do archery and get a bulls eye, sail and I played so many wide games. I swam a lot and hung out with my new friends. Camp was from July 26th to August 8th this year. There are five different sessions people can go to each summer and it is an overnight camp.

After camp I went to my other grandparents’ cottage. I had a great time. My first cousins were there and of course my grandparents’ dog, Sparkles. I spent time with my cousins and my grandparents, played with Sparkles, went on boat rides, went on the swing, visited and rested on the hammock. I was there for a week and a half. They have an awesome swing which goes out over the water and you can jump into the water off it. I haven’t yet jumped off, I prefer to swing back in.

This summer has seemed so short, that is why I can’t believe I am staring Gr.8 in two days. I am nervous about who will be in my class and who will be my teacher (you don’t find out until the first day of school). There are four classes so I could be in any one of them. I will be going off to high school next year so I have to decide which High School I will be going to next year. I will miss the hot weather but I like Fall too. Halloween is also in Fall, who could forget Halloween.

100 years old!

My grandmother (“Nannie”) is 100 years old as of September 23, 2008. Here she is with Aunt Dorothy, Mom and Aunt Sylvia (left to right). With a letter from the Queen of England and the Governor General, the special event event made quite a splash! Although I couldn’t be there due to my illness, I still sent a recorded CD and a few books to read. Happy birthday, Nannie, and may you enjoy many more!

On the road to recovery?

IMG_0686Although I missed celebrating Erin’s birthday this last May, I am in fact doing a little better these days. At this point, my goal is to be able to be out of bed and downstairs on Christmas Day (2007 that is!). Lyme disease has taken enough of my life and that of my family. Being stuck in bed is fun for the first day, but as of October 8, 2007 it will be one full year (with the exception of brief periods in Dec. 2006 through Feb. 2007 when I was able to be up). I will beat this! ๐Ÿ™‚
